Mt. Carmel Graduation Plus Yakitori

Here are a few pictures from graduation day. It was super nostalgic being back at Mt. Carmel. I played soccer and ran track in high school, so being in that stadium brought back a lot of memories. Some, like running the stadium stair for conditioning, weren't necessarily happy memories!

Post graduation Thaddeus headed to grad night and the rest of the family went to a Yakitori restaurant. Yakitori is basically Japanese for grilled things on a stick. A lot of us were intimidated by the menu and didn't know how to order. There was a weird section at the top that said things like pizza sauce and salmon and corn and plum sauce. My dad and David's family (who recently went to Tokyo) were helpful in navigating what would be favorable to most palates.

James looks how most of us felt while waiting.  It was so hot and we chose the side of the stadium that wasn't in the shade.

Thaddy is the one in the back of the line here.

Lots of leis. My mom grew up on Maui so it seemed fitting.

Mother son picture. This was one of my favorites.

Yakitori Time!

. . . on a stick.

The vegetarians in the family got a rice ball and soba noodles (I think?).
