Trailridge Road

Amanda has some great pictures of this excursion from our family vacation. I took all close ups and not very many of the full landscape.

I'll summarize with this: Above the timberline. Marmots and Elk. Glacial lakes. Biting cold and wind. The feeling of being in a scene of a Brontë novel mixed with Planet Earth (David Attenborough narration mentally included). We need to open a hot chocolate shop up there!

The first thing I thought when I saw the pictures was, "What the hey? They went to Scotland?" Now, if there was a little Shetland Pony up there, I would have been really confused.
